Shri J.C.S.Rawat: was born on 24thMay 1949 in Nainital and got his primary school education in Gahana, district Nainital. He did 10th12 thand Graduation from Higher Scondary School, Mukteshwar, Nainital GIC Nainital and DSB Govt. College respectively. He did LL.B from Lucknow University. He joined Uttar Pradesh Judicial Service in the year 1976 as Munsiff Magistrate. From 1991 to May 1994 worked as Chief Metropolitan Magistrate and as Additional District Judge, Kanpur Nagar. From 1994 to Nov. 2000 worked as Additional Registrar, Allahabad High Court, Lucknow Bench(from July 2000 to Nov 2000 worked as Registrar of Allahabad High Court).Upon formation of state of Uttarakhand he joined as Registrar of High Court of Uttarakhand at Nainital and worked as such till Jan. 2003. Worked as Court Administrator-cum-Registrar General of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India from Jan 2003 to June 2004 . Appointed as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Uttarakhand at Nainital on 29th,June 2004 and as Judge of High Court of Uttarakhand on 21/03/2006.


Shri Prafulla C. Pant:-was born on 30thof August 1952 in district Pithoragarh of Uttarakhand, he got his primary and secondary education from there.After doing B.Sc. andLL.B from Allahabad and Lucknow respectively, he joined the Bar at Allahabad in 1973 and entered in U.P. Judicial Service in 1976.He held different posts in judicial service at Ghaziabad, Pilibhit, Ranikhet, Bereilly and Meerut and thereafter was promoted to Higher Judicial Service,in 1990 and joined his duties as Additional District Judge in district Bahraich of U.P.He also worked as Joint Registrar in High Court of Allahabad.He has written books on subjects of law including on Marriage, Divorce and Other Matrimonial Disputes.His commentary in Hindi on Code of Civil Procedure won first prize for the year 2000, from Govt. of India. After creation of state of Uttarakhand he was the first Secretary, Judicial, of the state.He also held the post of District and Sessions Judge at Nainital before being posted as Registrar General of High Court of Uttarakhand at Nainital.Took oath of office of Additional Judge of the High Court of Uttarakhand on29thJune 2004 and as Judge of High Court of Uttarakhand on 19/02/2008.


Shri V.K.Maheshwari was born on 15/03/1949 at Saharanpur ( U.P). After doing B.Sc he did LL.B in 1972. Joined Bar at Saharanpur. Selected in U.P-P.C.S (J) in 1975 batch and secured second position in his batch. He held different posts in District Moradabad, Farukhabad, Mainpuri, Roorkee, Barielly, Dehradun, Kanpur and Nainital.

He was promoted as District and Session Judge on 03/03/2003 and was posted in District Chamoli. Appointed as Registrar General of High Court of Uttarakhand at Nainital on 29/06/2004. Retired on 31/03/2009.


Shri Ravindra Maithani was born on 25.06.1965 in district Chamoli. Did B.Sc. LLB from Garhwal University, Srinagar (Uttarakhand). Joined Uttarakhand Nyayik Sewa in the batch of 1986. Was posted in different districts in different courts as Presiding Officer. Promoted to Higher Judicial Services in the year 2003 and worked as Additional District Sessions Judge, Dehradun. Has also worked as Deputy Director, Institute of Judicial Training Research, U.P., Lucknow, Member, Trade Tax Tribunal, Uttarakhand, Registrar, Public Service Tribunal, Uttarakhand. Registrar (Vigilance) High Court of Uttarakhand, Nainital, Additional Director, Uttarakhand Judicial And Legal Academy, Bhowali Distt: Nainital. Has also been working as Administrator General, Uttarakhand.

Appointed as Registrar General, High Court of Uttarakhand, Nainital vide notification dated 28.03.2009 and assumed charge of the office on 31.03.2009.Transferred to Supreme Court of India as Registrar on dated 20.09.2010.


Shri Umesh Chandra Dhyani:- Joined Uttar Pradesh Judicial Service on 05.11.1979. Was posted as Law Secretary, Government of Uttarakhand and Legal Advisor to His Excellency, the Governor of  Uttarakhand. Has also worked as District Judge Udam Singh Nagar; District Judge Nainital; Director of State Judicial Academy (UJALA) and District Judge Dehradun. Appointed as Registrar General, High Court of Uttarakhand, Nainital vide notification dated 20.09.2010 and assumed charge of the office on 20.09.2010. Elevated as Judge of the Uttarakhand High Court On 13th September, 2011.


Shri K. D. Bhatt:- Joined Uttar Pradesh Judicial Service on 06.11.1981. Has worked as District Judge Uttarkashi, District Judge Udam Singh Nagar, District Judge Pauri Garhwal. Appointed as Registrar General, High Court of Uttarakhand, Nainital vide notification dated 13.09.2011 and assumed charge of the office on 13.09.2011. Transferred to District Court Haridwar as District & session Judge on dated 18.11.2011.


Shri Ram Singh was born on 01.06.1956 in District Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. Did Bsc., LLB and LLM from Meerut University. After selection by the Rajsthan Public Service Commission for Rajsthan Legal Service in 1979, he served in the Legislation Department of Rajsthan Government till his selection and joining in U.P. Judicial Service on 03.09.1984. Was posted in different courts of U.P., situated at Ghaziabad, Hapur, Aligarh, Rishikesh, Bijnor, Roorkee, Moradabad and Dehradun as Civil Judge Junior and Senior Division/CJM cadre and was promoted as  HJS by Allahaband High Court and also by the Uttarakhand High Court  after his option  to Uttarkahand in 2000.

In Uttarakhand, he worked on various posts as Additional District & Sessions Judge, Almora, Joint Registrar, High Court of Uttarakhand, Additional charge of Member Secretary, State Legal Authority, Uttarakhand and Additional District & Sessions Judge, Dehradun. After his promotion to the District & Sessions Judge level, he was posted as District & Sessions Judge, Pithoragarh, Tehri Garhwal, Presiding Officer, Labour Court, Dehradun, from where, he was posted and appointed as Principal Secretary, Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Department as well as Principal Secretary, Law Judicial-cum-L.R. of Uttarakhand Government. On 02.05.2011, he was transferred and posted as District & Sessions Judge, Haridwar.

 Appointed as Registrar General, High Court of Uttarakhand vide Notification No 264/UHC/Admin.A/2011, Dated 13/11/2011 and assumed the charge of the office on03/12/2011. Transferred to Dehradun as District & Sessions Judge on 29/08/2013.


Shri D.P. Gairola was born on 20.07.1959 in District Tehri Garhwal. Did B.A. LLB from H.N.B. Garhwal University, Uttarakhand and LLM from Allahabad University. Joined Uttar Pradesh Nyayik Sewa in the batch of 1984, and was posted in different Courts in different Districts as Presiding Officer in the State of Uttar Pradesh. After the State of Uttarakhand came into existence in 2000, opted Uttarakhand cadre and was posted in different Districts as Chief Judicial Magistrate and Civil Judge (Senior Division) and promoted to Higher Judicial Service in 2003 and worked as Judge Anti Corruption in Dehradun. Thereafter, promoted as District and Sessions Judge in January 2006 and was posted as Secretary, Lokayukta, Uttarakhand. During that period was having additional charge of Registrar, Public Service Tribunal. Thereafter, transferred as District judge, Chamoli, in May 2008, and during this period was assigned Additional charge of District Judge, Rudraprayag. Thereafter, posted as District judge, Pithoragarh and additional charge of District Judge, Champawat was also assigned. Thereafter, transferred as Principal Secretary, Law-cum-L.R, in the Government of Uttarakhand, in 2011, with additional charge of Principal Secretary Legislative and Parliament Affairs. During this period he was holding Additional charge of Principal Secretary, of Uttarakhand, Legislative Assembly.

          Appointed as Registrar General, High Court of Uttarakhand, Nainital vide notification dated 29.08.2013 and assumed charge of the office on 11.09.2013. Transferred to Hardwar as District & Sessions Judge vide notification dated May 2, 2016.


Shri Kanta Prasad


Shri Narendra Dutt:- Shri Narendra Dutt S/o Late Shri Bhola Dutt (Retired Judge, District and Sessions Courts Delhi), Born on 18/10/1969. Initial Schooling till 10th Class was done from King George Royal Indian Military College now known as Chail Military School, Shimla Hills, Himachal Pradesh. Did Plus two (10+2) from summer Fields School, New Delhi.  Passed B.A. (Pass) course from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, in the year 1991. Passed LL.B from Campus Law centre Delhi University, in the year 1994. Thereafter, got enrolled with Bar Council of Delhi and practiced on Criminal side at District Courts Delhi and High Court of Delhi till 2008. In the year 2004-2005 contested Bar Association election and was elected as Additional Secretary of New Delhi Bar Association.

In the year 2008, joined Uttarakhand Higher Judicial Service (direct recruitment) and the first posting was as Additional District Judge at Dehradun, where held the post of Special Judge C.B.I.(Anti Corruption) and Special Judge, Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances(NDPS). Remained there till June 2010 and thereafter was transferred to High Court of Uttarakhand, at Nainital as Registrar Judicial. Shri Narendra Dutt has been appointed as Registrar General, High Court of Uttarakhand, Nainital vide notification dated 29/07/2016 and assumed charge of the office on 01/08/2016. Sri Narendra Dutt is also having additional charge of Registrar (Vigilance) of High Court of Uttarakhand, vide notification number 216/UHC/Admin.A/2016, Dated July 29, 2016. He was conferred Uttarakhand Ratan by All India Conference of Intellectuals (A.I.C.O.I.) in the year 2018. Transferred to District Court, Nainital as District Judge vide notification dated 14/08/2018.

 

Shri Pradeep Pant:  Sri Pradeep Pant was born on 20.10.1968 at Kashipur, District Udham Singh Nagar. He did his Post Graduation in Law (LL.M.) from Lucknow University securing first position. He was selected in the Uttar Pradesh Judicial Service in the 1990 Batch and joined in 1996 at Lucknow as Civil Judge (Jr. Div.). After promotion to Higher Judicial Service in 2006 he served as Judge, Family Court, Nainital, Hardwar, Special Judge Anti-Corruption CBI, Special Judge (NDPS) and Special Judge (NIA) at Dehradun and also worked as Registrar (Judicial), High Court of Uttarakhand. He also served as Member Secretary, Uttarakhand State Legal Services Authority. Appointed as Director of Uttarakhand Judicial and Legal Academy and assumed his charge on 16th April, 2015. Appointed as Registrar General of High Court of Uttarakhand vide notification dated 14/08/2018 and assumed his charge on 16/08/2018.  Transferred to District Court, Almora as District Judge vide notification dated 12/06/2019.


Shri HS Bonal

Shri Hira Singh Bonal: Born on 07.01.1963 at Village- Bon (Gothi), Dharchula, District- Pithoragarh, he did his High School and Intermediate from Govt. Inter College, Dharchula, District- Pithoragarh and completed Graduation from Sanghatak Mahavidyalaya, Almora. He completed his LL.B. from Banaras Hindu University. He joined the Uttar Pradesh Judicial Service on 20.03.1996 as Civil Judge (Junior Division) Uttarkashi and thereafter served as Civil Judge (Jr. Div.) Sahswan, District- Badayun and Mahu Ranipur, District- Jhansi in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

In the year 2000, when the State of Uttarakhand was carved out of the State of Uttar Pradesh, he opted for Uttaranchal (now Uttarakhand) Judicial Services.  He served as Civil Judge (Junior Division) - Purola (Uttarkashi), Rishikesh (Dehradun), Ranikhet (Almora), Bageshwar; as Civil Judge (Senior Division) - Bageshwar, Udhamsingh Nagar and as Chief Judicial Magistrate - Bageshwar and Udham Singh Nagar. Upon his promotion to Higher Judicial Service, he served as Additional Judge Family Court - Rishikesh (Dehradun) and Judge, Family Court, Pauri Garhwal; as Additional District Judge- Dehradun and Kashipur (Udham Singh Nagar); as District Judge- Bageshwar and Udham Singh Nagar. He also held various posts in Government and Tribunals – worked as Additional Secretary (Law)/ Additional L.R., Government of Uttarakhand, Presiding Officer, Food Safety Appellate Tribunal, Dehradun and Member, Commercial Tax Tribunal under VAT Act, 2005.

Assumed charge of Registrar General, High Court of Uttarakhand on 29th day of June, 2019.

Transferred as Principal Secretary, Legislative & Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Uttarakhand  vide notification dated 22/12/2020.

 

Shri Dhananjay Chaturvedi was born on 15.07.1978. He did his B.Sc in the year 1998 from Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra (formerly Agra University). After completion of graduation, he did LLB from Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra (formerly Agra University) in the year 2001. In the year 2003, he qualified the Uttarakhand PCS (J) Examination. His first appointment was as Judicial Magistrate, Roorkee, then as Civil Judge (JD), Laksar; CJM, Chamoli, CJM, Tehri. Thereafter, he was promoted in Higher Judicial Services in 2010 and appointed as Additional Registrar, High Court of Uttarakhand on 09.07.2010. Thereafter, he was appointed as Additional District Judge, Haridwar, Additional District Judge, Kotdwar, Pauri; Judge, Family Court, Vikas Nagar, Dehradun and District Judge, Bageshwar. Vide notification dated 22.12.2020, he was appointed as Registrar General of this Court and he assumed the charge of his office on 24.12.2020. Transferred as Secretary (Law)- cum-L.R., Government of Uttarakhand, Dehradun  vide notification dated 04/04/2022.

 

 

Vivek Bharti Sharma

Shri Vivek Bharti Sharma is first in first batch of HJS 2005, State of Uttarakhand.  He did his schooling from Ramjas School, Delhi; B.Sc. from University of Delhi; LL.B. Faculty of Law, University of Delhi; Course in Forensic Science, Deptt. of Anthropology, University of Delhi.He joined the legal profession in year 1987 and practiced at law mainly in matrimonial, civil and criminal side in district courts and High court of Delhi.In year 1990, he was appointed Government Counsel, Delhi Administration. In Year 1994, he was appointed Additional Public Counsel of Government of Delhi and conducted cases of Directorate of Industries, Directorate of Education, PWD and Delhi Police etc. He was also appointed advocate of Indian railways in High Court of Delhi in year 1998. In year 2000, he was appointed Additional Standing Counsel for Union of India. He was also an Advocate for 'Vaishya Cooperative Adarsh Bank', Delhi. On joining H.J.S., he served as Additional District & Sessions Judge at Haridwar, Roorkee, Haldwani and Nainital. In May, 2011, he was promoted and appointed as Principal District Judge, Pithoragarh, thereafter Principal District Judge, Pauri in 2013. He served on deputation as Legal Advisor, to his Excellency Governor of Uttarakhand;  later on, transferred as Chairman, Commercial Tax Tribunal, Dehradun. On 22, May 2017, he was appointed Director of 'Uttarakhand Judicial And Legal Academy'. On 16th August 2018, he was appointed Principal District Judge, Haridwar. On 4th April 2022, he is appointed Registrar General, High Court of Uttarakhand, Nainital.

 

Shri Anuj Kumar Sangal is an officer of Higher Judicial Service (H.J.S.). He has been appointed as Registrar General, High Court of Uttarakhand vide Notification No. 212/UHC/Admin.A-2/2023, Dated 27/04/2023 and assumed Charge on 28/04/2023.
